The Road To Success: Goals

From past to present, humanity has done everything for a purpose. People must have goals and objectives because indecision will create a great mess and make it difficult to find the way to go.

Your purpose in life will be a stepping stone for you in catching the meaning of life. Because a person with a goal never forgets the path they have taken and what they have to do, works for it, and doesn’t lose his passion by remembering what he/she will achieve. They encounter that life is not rosy long ago and learns not to give up when an obstacle comes their way. Since they will know the tasks that have to do, they will not get bored and remain indecisive. When we consider all of these situations, the frequency of depression or different psychological states, which is seen as one of the biggest problems today, will decrease.

As Oscar Wilde said, our main purpose in life should be to improve ourselves. Because the person who develops himself will know in which areas they are lacking and will go on these areas. In a society approaching perfection, social problems will begin to disappear and we will reach a peaceful society structure.

But for some people, goals can be a source of stress. The reason behind this lies in the wrong understanding of the target. Setting single and unrealistic goals can have deleterious psychological effects. We have to set our goals in the same way that we climb the steps of life one by one. We can always set big and prestigious goals, but we should not forget that we need to set micro-goals while reaching these goals.

This technique, which is called the runner mentality, prevents the person from being lost between the size and difficulty of the goals on their journey. For example, you will run on an eighty-kilometer road, which at first glance is a pretty big target for normal people. In this case, we need to keep our motivation alive by setting micro-targets for ourselves. By dividing this eighty-kilometer road into four parts, we will have small targets of twenty kilometers. When we finish the first twenty kilometers, our confidence in our success will increase by remembering the part we ran before. The same goes for the first half. In this way, we will deceive our brains and learn an easy way to convince ourselves.

We should not forget that every day we do not work for our goal, we will fall behind by one percent. Time is a concept that passes very quickly and unfortunately, it is not possible to bring back some moments. To be open to opportunities at any moment, we must not lose our stability and our goals. We should not forget that we live in an age where competition is very high and it is difficult to achieve the dreams we want to realize.
